Chapter 36 - How To Piss Off Your Roommate 2
"So you are telling me your eldest brother has the same eyes as Rui Fei and that he might have been in Xiehe as well?" asked Ji Yao clearly hoping to catch a slip up in Rui Yewan\'s response.
But unfortunately for him, Rui Yewan was in the business of lying without batting an eyelash. He was a pro at it except in front of Rui Fei which meant Ji Yao couldn\'t find fault in his words.
" I didn\'t see him in Xiehe but like Captain Ji, I felt his seraphic energy. Dage, I suggest you stop thinking about him because he even terrifies the shit out of me and I am the king of nightmares. Just trust me on this," explained Rui Yewan with a hint of sincerity.
He would advise anyone to stay away from Rui Fei because when he gets angry the chance of survival reduces drastically so the other half of his sentence wasn\'t a lie. Besides him and his sister, no one else was immune to Rui Fei\'s wrath.
Ji Yao didn\'t say anything after that. He just opened the door and walked towards the bookshelf to pick up the first volume he created. But just as he touched the corner of the manga to pull it out, his face sank when he saw Rui Fei lying on his bed like he owned it.
He was lying on his back with the manga hovering above his head and his left leg over his right knee. His left ankle was playfully swinging as he read the manga with an appealing look. Ji Yao stood there frozen for a second not knowing how to respond to this type of situation.
No one and I repeat no one had ever slept on his bed beside himself. Everyone knew he was nitpicky about his things what more his bed that he spends half his life on. And now Rui Fei was sleeping on it like he owned it.
All Rui Fei could recall was his leg being dragged out of the bed and his entire body crashing down to the floor. By the time he opened his eyes, Ji Yao had already walked outside with a book in his hand.
Rui Fei, "WTF!"
He was suddenly afraid of closing his eyes tonight lest he got attacked in his sleep. While Rui Fei was considering pulling an all-nighter, Rui Yewan\'s nerves were stretched taut in the presence of Ji Yao. It was at this time that he realised he had underestimated this older brother. When Ji Yao was upset he was as terrifying as Rui Fei.
All Ji Yao did was hand him the manga before walking away but he felt his knees soften with cold sweat trickling down his back. He watched Ji Yao storm off surrounded by a sinister aura like a malicious fiend on the prowl.
He turned back to look through the slightly open door and saw Rui Fei getting up from the floor. Rui Yewan shook his head before running away lest Ji Yao comes back and take it out on him too.
Apparently, he wasn\'t the only one who felt the mighty wrath of Ji Yao. Even Ji Wen wasn\'t spared. His door was kicked in startling him so much that he fell from the chair he was dozing off in. He was a little tipsy but he could clearly see Ji Yao walk in and grab clean quilt and sheets from the closet before walking out without saying a word.
The kid\'s anger meter was probably in the red zone because he didn\'t even bang the door when he left. This meant the door was left wide open for the entire world to see. "Ah-Yao, at least close my door!" he yelled but as soon as he said this a crackling sound was heard before the entire door came crashing down.
He knew they would be casualties when he asked Ji Yao to share his room it\'s just that he thought that the Fei kid would be thrown overboard not his recently replaced expensive door.
Because he was anticipating this he had even told the crew to be on the lookout tonight just in case Ji Yao takes action against Rui Fei but it turns out the only thing that needed protection was his door.
While Ji Wen was mourning the loss of his cabin door, Rui Fei\'s face was getting hit by the quilt he had just slept on. Ji Yao tossed the bedding in his face before spreading the bed with the new bedding.
A perplexed Rui Fei couldn\'t understand as he watched on in silence. From what he observed he knew Ji Yao had a unique way of doing things but he didn\'t think it would be this severe. He hadn\'t laid on that bed for more than three minutes but Ji Yao flipped out so much that he dragged him off the bed and replaced the bedding.
Was it a him thing or was it an everyone thing? If it was an everyone thing then fine but if it was a him thing then they had a big problem.
Rui Fei raised his armpits and took a whiff trying to check if it was because he smelt horrible but he couldn\'t smell anything. Yes sure, he didn\'t smell like peaches and cream but he didn\'t smell bad either.
"Yao-ge, is it because I smell bad?" he asked feeling a little hurt. He would go jump into the sea right now to cleanse himself just as long as Ji Yao didn\'t find him appalling.
Ji Yao didn\'t even bother looking up as he busied himself doing the bed which frustrated Rui Fei a little. "Yao-ge... Yao-ge.... Yao-ge," he called out but he was ignored each time. "I am sorry," he finally said but Ji Yao just took off his outer robe and brocade boots before getting into bed.
With his back facing Rui Fei, he squeezed his eyes shut. Let\'s not blame him for his overreaction because it was embedded in his DNA and this was the first time anyone lay on his bed.
This is why having his mother around would have been helpful because she would have explained why he felt this way. Why he reacted so strongly to things that most people would overlook.
Rui Fei pressed his lips into a thin line as he lay on the chaise with the quilt thrown at him earlier on his chest. His brows creased when he realised the quilt had um... ahem, Ji Yao\'s scent on it. Well, he couldn\'t share the bed with his benefactor but he could sniff that soothing scent to sleep and that\'s what he did.
If only Ji Yao knew about this he would have thrown Big Hei\'s tobacco flavoured quilt, Old Du\'s ginseng flavoured one or Xu-ge\'s fish scented quilt.. Because right now it started to look like he had rewarded Rui Fei instead of punishing him.
